Places to Visit

There are simply loads of places to visit in Cornwall, we have left a few leaflets for you

If you do see any other interesting leaflets and/or maps, we would be really grateful if you could collect us a copy.

A few that we really like are as follows:

  • St Michael’s Mount – beautiful iconic island castle and grounds with either a short walk across their causeway or a boat trip (depending upon the tide)
  • Levant Mine, National Trust, near Land’s End.  This is a beautiful historic site located right on the coast with many of the original buildings associated with tin mining still in existence
  • Circular bus/train/boat trip from Truro to Falmouth along the Fal river operated by Enterprise Boats.  Please check their website and times and departure points vary according to the tide www.falriver.co.uk.  Trains run to and from Falmouth approx. every 30 minutes.
  • St Agnes – close local picturesque village.  The Fish and Chip shop here has a limited menu but their fish and chips are very good
  • Heligan Gardens – near Mevagissey.  Beautiful and interesting gardens with a fascinating history.
  • St Ives – this can get quite crowded so we would suggest catching the train from St Erth where there is ample parking.
  • Golitha Falls – a beautiful river woodland walk with waterfalls between Bodmin and Liskeard.
  • The Lizard – this is a beautiful part of the Cornish peninsula with pretty bays and villages such as Kynance Cove, Coverack and Cadgwith.
  • Trebah Gardens – near Mawnan Smith, Falmouth.  Tropical Gardens leading down to a private beach on the Helford river
  • Heartlands – at Pool near Camborne.  This is a world heritage site and offers an insight into the history of Cornish tin mining.
  • St Nectan’s Glen at Tintagel is a magical woodland walk to see their waterfall with a café incentive when you arrive!
