Boathouse

Hints & Tips

These hints and tips are in no particular order, but we would be grateful if you could just take a moment to familiarise yourself with them – thank you

  • Entering the Boathouse – Please remove shoes, and run off any sandy/muddy dogs before entering the house.  Let us know if you would like any dogs towels (we have loads).
  • Wetsuits/sandy dogs and other dirty things – Please do not wash wetsuits etc in the shower, you are welcome to use the outside tap by our back door for this.  There is a clothes airer you can put on the decking to dry them.
  • Dogs – we have a section in our Terms and Conditions which can be found here. Dogs are very welcome, but we ask that all mess (both inside and out) is tidied up, dogs remain under control at all times, muddy feet wiped before entering the Boathouse and that they do not go on the furniture. If you need poo bags, old towels etc, or have forgotten to pack something please let us know.  We can also advise on where to walk, both on and off our property.
  • Leaving the Boathouse – please lock the doors, close the windows and switch off lights, heating or any electrical appliances when you go out – we try to be an eco-friendly holiday home
  • Bath towels – we only supply bath towels, please bring beach towels with you.
  • Please park your vehicles in the designated parking space, ensuring cars do not block access to other properties. Parking is limited to 1 vehicles (unless agreed otherwise)
  • Bedding/towels – at the end of your stay, please remove the bedding, towels and rugs and place in the washing basket (we will give you at the end of your stay) as it comes off – not folded.
  • Wifi code – this is B4at1964
  • Bins – please empty your bins and place in the dustbin up by the house.
  • Recycling – mixed recycling can be placed in the green Waitrose bag once it is clean and dry.
  • Gas rings – please do not turn the large burner up to full blast as it melts the microwave!
  • Heating thermostat – this is currently set to come on in the morning and evening and set to 20°C, this can be adjusted to suit but please remember to turn it back to run so that it does not remain on permanently.
  • Gas Fire – to light, turn the switch on the regulator to show the red flame, turn the knob to the ignition setting and hold down, then press the lighter button until the fire lights.  Continue to hold the knob down until the flame stays in.  For your own safety, please turn the regulator switch back off as you extinguish the flame.
  • Further Terms and Conditions can be found here

As usual, please do let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.  We are happy to suggest alternative places to eat, visit, walk etc
